This is the story of our founder, award-winning filmmaker and media technician Zachary Galen.

We have been providing media services to the greater Los Angeles are for over a decade now, but our story is anything but ordinary.

It all began with a dream…

Well, not quite.

From the age of three years old, Zachary Galen always said he wanted to be a photographer when he grew up. No, not a superhero or a firefighter or a rockstar. And so, from the age of only five years old, he began saving all his birthday and allowance money for film and photography equipment.*

And then, it happened.

After years of saving and creating short films with his friends, Zachary gained a reputation around his middle school as the go-to techie. And so, he was asked last-minute by school faculty to film their theatrical production of Peter Pan after the hired videographer bailed at the last minute.

Like any other ordinary teenager who obviously loves working, Zachary dropped everything to make the production happen. And not only did he fulfill his obligations, but he did so in record time and quality, thus becoming the go-to videographer for all school events, above external and established vendors.

And thus, ZG Media Services was born.

Of course, it didn’t stop there.

After middle school comes high school, where Zachary went from editor to Senior Producer in two months at his school’s broadcast station due to his outstanding quality, attention to detail, and work ethic. Several years after graduating with Highest Honors, his work can still be seen playing throughout the school.

While enrolled, he once again became the dedicated videographer for all school performances. And beyond the campus, he volunteered at Vanderpump Dogs, where he produced and edited content for their social media and corporate events.

Then came adulthood.

Zachary found himself enrolled as a Media Arts & Culture major at Occidental College immediately succeeding high school graduation. He continued to operate ZG Media Services while balancing an overloaded course schedule.

Much of his work received admiration from his professors and colleagues due to its technical mastery. Several of his school projects ranked highly in international and local competitions.

And before his college career came to an end with Summa cum Laude on his diploma, he produced works for several companies, including NBC Sports, Bravo, Universal Local Television, and Pandium Fusion, LLC.

Now here we are today.

Zachary continues to operate ZG Media Services by providing award-winning media services to clients both through himself and in partnership with his colleagues and industry partners.

He recently completed The Walt Disney Company, where he exuded his passion for all-things media production by making magic one day at a time. Currently, he flies among the flock with the NBCUniversal television and streaming team.
